Edward Baxter

Thank you to all of the electors and residents of Erith and Thamesmead for your engagement with the General Election.   Our democracy is invaluable

Thank you to the 15 571 people who voted for me to serve as your MP in 2017.  Everyone helping in my campaign was a volunteer, and I thank you all for what you have given and sacrifices made to campaign and help others

Together we achieved the highest number of votes and the highest vote share for a Conservative candidate in Erith and Thamesmead since the constituency was created.   Thank you all.   Sadly, this was not enough.   I have congratulated Teresa Pearce on her re-election and wish her well in this important task

It has been a pleasure to meet so many people, listen, and hear your views.   I care deeply about housing regeneration, improving our transport links, education in Bexley and Greenwich, and national issues like Brexit and the NHS.   I have learnt more and more talking with you

I am pleased that the Conservative Party won the election and can continue to make the right choices for us.   Most importantly, we need a strong economy – jobs for us, and money for investment.   We will all work hard to repair the economy, so that we can afford the best education system, our NHS and excellent care for our families and communities.   Times are tough, and I am pleased to share a vision of opportunity, aspiration, and care for our communities – with numbers that actually add up to deliver what we all want

With my very best wishes to you,

I stand for:

- An economy that works with real money for public services – including the NHS and Education

- The best Brexit deal – every vote for me standing with Theresa May strengthens Britain’s position

- Better transport links for Erith and Thamesmead - rail, road, and river - sensitively placed

- Affordable housing and outstanding schools

- A powerful voice in Greenwich and Bexley - working with all of our representatives
